Well it aint pretty!! You may remember this post pack in April as being pretty horrifiying however I am of the firm belief that now it is nearly all stripped out we are actually getting somewhere. The bath looks harmless enough but is actually stupidy heavy cast iron and took my Dad and Mr HMH a few pulled muscles and a furniture trolley to remove. Never fear, I will not be dumping said hunk of metal but carting it to Hobart to be installed as an outside bath for candlelit evenings and daytime kiddie play (that is if Mr HMH doesn't "accidentally lose" it in the move!)
I am ever so glad to be hiding out living at Bramble Cottage while the bathroom is reconstructed and the loungeroom/kitchen has new cornicing put up and plaster patched. Not really a recipe for a sane High Maintenance Hippy household! We have mostly little jobs to do after the bathroom thankfully. My only real struggle is translating the ideas and designs in my head to Mr HMH without us killing each other in the process - ahh, grown-up communication! Seriously though, I look forward to showing you the finished result in the next few months and getting that For Sale sign on the front lawn, it is so satisfying after all the blood, sweat and tears to see it to completion. Well lets hope so...
