The Munchkin decided to do some sewing today on her little vintage machine and after choosing the fabric she came up with the idea of pillows for her teddies and dolls. Obviously watching me has rubbed off! She asked for the stuffing and then filled them herself, by the last one she even sewed the opening closed without assistance.
She as so proud of herself, and has plans to make a few more. I was blown away by her project and so, so proud of her too!
This is the back of her sewing. Her little machine does a single thread chain stitch (no bottom bobbin). I really wanted her to get the hang of the process of sewing before I moved her onto a "real'" machine. I think we will look at one of those small full size machines for her birthday in February.
Have you had any experience with one of those? - any feedback appreciated :)
I finished my vintage sheet quilt too. I made the binding from a vintage sheet also.
Photo's taken at Mum and Dads gorgeous home :)
Have a brilliant sunshiney weekend,

How cool! She must have felt so proud of herself - what a great confidence build! And I love the blanket too, gorgeous colours!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a great feeling to see your little ones creating such gorgeous stuff. My girls use my sewing machine regularly and I just love to see what things they come up with.
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteClever little girl.

ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the quilt & your binding is so neat.
I had one of those little sewing machines when I was a youngin & had so much fun learning to machine sew. Munchkin has done a brilliant job...well done :-)
